Where We Work - Kenya

Irbaan Primary School opened with three classrooms in November 2007 thanks to the generosity of international donors. But this is just a start. The school, which serves communities spread out for over the vast grasslands of the Mara region in Kenya, is still in need of ongoing support to provide a quality education to the hundreds of children in the area. More classrooms are needed to accommodate all the children and school supplies from textbooks to desks are in short supply.

Kensington is supporting Irbaan with a feeding program for the close to 200 students. The feeding programs provides a breakfast and lunch to the students helping to be healthier, learn better and is a powerful tool for encouraging parents to allow their children to attend school.
